About six years ago, I was keeping a close eye on the war in Iraq. I was 34 years old and sick of my dead-end job and I wanted to be apart of the (server my country) war on terror.
I was a home owner and my sister just had a bad divorce so I told her she and her two kids could just move in to my place and pay me whatever, whenever she could. After Six years in the Army I'm once again an Civilian. As a Civilian, I'm not making a lot of money, my sister had to move out so I could sell my home(I can't afford it anymore). I'm getting some money from the G.I bill for school, but the big problem is I'm 41 years old now. I'm going to have to try to get something in two years but I don't know what. I'm going for computer and electric right now and the math is killing me. I would love to be a cop but I think I'm to old. What can a 41 years old man take at school? I'll be 43 once I'm out of school and trying to find a job. |
| Dont quote me on this, but I heard you subtract like 6 or 7 years off your age if you are prior military. I think the cutoff age to be a peace officer is 34? That would put you right there. So I would find out real soon if thats the case. I dont know if it's true or not just heard it somewhere before. |

First of all let me thank you for your service. Second, I searched the Ohio Peace officer standards site and did not find an age limit. Federal limit is 34 I belive, but most states don't have one. Problem with this route is alot of agencies are buget restricted so there is no hiriing going on. Another option for you would be corrections. They love .mil guys.
