T-38s eta: are you at beale? I was stationed there from 04-08 No, I'm not .mil. But the shooting range I go to is less than a mile to the east of Beale, and I was looking at that area in google maps/earth. I've seen those T-38s for years though, mostly when I lived in Vacaville. ETA:About a month to a month and a half ago, I swear I saw a U-2 flying around that area. Is there a U-2 stationed at Beale? |

Ah, the do as you please range? I was down range once and the line was cold. Then a new dude showed up and started shooting at targets. Be careful at that range. |

I think it's pretty nice for being a public range. We just need to organize more calguns cleanups for it. Then again, that might be difficult, as it always seems to have at least one or two people shooting at it throughout the day, everyday. |

It looks like the southern two have been pirated for parts, or is that just glimmer? Covers over the cockpit/sensor bays, as well as drooping flaperons from completely de-energized control system hydraulics. So those other two are functional? |

I believe so.
So those other two are functional? closer pic (not clearer, too bad Bing Maps Birdseye isn't available for Beale) http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6009/bealeu22.jpg Is this a joke? I can't see anything. It's just a screen of black. |

MIG-28's! No one's ever been this close before! You've been watching that volleyball movie again, haven't you. It's not uncommon for women to remember Top Gun as "that volleyball movie". Men, not so much. Jane I think I remember it as that movie full of full of themselves JERKS! At any rate, seen enough F-5's as a child....RSAF flew them among other allies. A American General once said, "The F-5 is a perfect aircraft to give to our allies. They can use it defend themselves with but can't use it to attack their neighbors." As far as the U-2 variants go, I believe the Strategic Recon squadron is or was located at Beale. As far as those two other birds go........... Well, when I was a child at the air base where the RSAF F-5's were, they had a handful of F-86's in a line on a side of the tarmac. They looked nice and all............but they weren't flyable, I was told they were using them for parts. So, something to keep in mind. Those other two birds might be flyable...........but they might used for parts as well. Secondly, parts in military hardware tends to be a big item. Look through a naval book about ships transferred to other countries......odds are decent that some of them will be listed as a parts source. ___________________________________________________________________ ("I'm sorry, James.
