Conversely, get ready for a bunch of people with bruised pussies complaining about how they were betrayed by the price increase and licensing to Bushmaster. They'll also readily claim that it's "not the Masada," and that was what they wanted, not the ACR, when the only difference is that it says Bushmaster on the side instead of Magpul.

If they do, I'll give them another look.  They are great for taking down noobs due to their lack of recoil on MW2.

But seriously, I'd like to get one.  I'm fine with a 1:9 twist rate, but the price is just outrageous.  A few years ago I built my own AR that hasn't skipped a beat.  I'd trust my life to it in a heartbeat, and it cost me a third of what the ACR costs.  And there is in lies the problem for both the SCAR and the ACR.  The AR platform isn't so bad that its replacement needs to cost 3 times as much.

acrs can be found for like 1700 right now.  i dont think that is outrageous for what you get

Have one and love it, my folding stock came in yesterday and I have a TA01NSN coming in for it tomorrow. I've put roughly 1500rds through it (mostly wolf and with a can) and it has yet to fail me. Great rifle and something that I'll have for a while, I may even take it deer hunting this year.

I own a ban compliant ACR that I got for a little more than dealer price last week.  Wait a few months and the price will likely come down further.  Plus new caliber conversions and accessories will hit the market soon.

Played with one at my local gun shop, it's not bad. I just don't think it is worth the $.

I paid $2400 for mine the day that aim got them in stock, I have one of the first 500 made and it's just a great rifle. Another friend of mine just picked up a basic yesterday, granted they are selling for a lot less than I paid for mine but having the rifle for nearly 6 months, I think that I've got the extra $500 worth of use and fun out of it.

Nice!

I'm thinking of getting one this winter if the price drops enough. I was sold on me getting one as well during that demo weekend where we all treated that ACR like a cheap hooker and kept passing it around and it took everything like a pro.

It's one of those love or hate rifles. Personally, I would love to have one once the multi-caliber components come out.

If you ever have problems with your SCAR or any other FN product, you'll witness customer service so bad that it makes Jonathan Ceiner look like someone who cares.

Not knocking you, but the evidence is pretty clear...this is a site full of gun nuts and you're one of the very few who's got one and everyone else sort of screams in unison "Way too fucking much!".

If you got your money's worth with it, the only person you gotta answer to is you.

Hopefully.  I bought an FN Tactical Police Shotgun.  Apparently the first batch had some problems from the factory, but they declined to tell anyone.  After calling numerous times, I was told to send it in and get a replacement.  Long story short, I was told my new gun would be back in 2 weeks.  A month went by, so I called back.  They gave some excuse why it didn't get sent, and said it would be sent to me in the next week.  This repeated itself over a period of 8 months.  When the gun did come back, the C-More sight that came with the gun wouldn't mount properly.  FN told me that the gun would need to be mounted with different screws, and they'd send me a new set.  Surprise surprise, they never did.  I ended up trading what was essentially a brand new FN Tactical Police Shotgun off to a guy in the Ohio HTF for an 80's model Mini-14.  That's right.  I traded it for a different shotgun.  I hope it worked out for him, but I'll never spend another dime on FN.  I've made my complaint to them before over how this was handled, but I got nothing back.  No apologies, no explanation, nothing.   I wouldn't buy water from these crooks if I was dying of thirst in the desert.
