| anyone have one of these? if so what brand and what are the pro's and con's |
| We have a Zareba it is about 6 years old never had a but of trouble with it. It operates a 14' Heavy Duty Preifert Pipe gate it uses solar to charge the two internal batteries. However I think they sold out and quit making openers. That said i would look into Mighty Mule i think they are supposed to be pretty good. |

I have a Mighty Mule gate opener on a 12' farm gate at the driveway. We open it many times a day and its been working great for 5 years. Have it running off a 12v garden tractor battery, that is hooked to a trickle charger.
Was not cheap, but its one of those things that if it broke tomorrow I would not hesitate to put another one on. PM me for more info. |

I have one of those cheap mighty mules on a 12' farm gate as well on a cheap harbor freight solar panel. I wouldn't want one on a heavy steel/decorative gate but on a tube farm gate it has worked well the past two years and beats the shit out of getting out in the rain to open/close it. Even before I got the solar panel hooked up a 12v marine battery would last over a month before I had to recharge it and I open it on avaerage about 5-6 times a day. |

elite, doorking, chamberlain if you have chamberlin garage doors.we've put in dozens and dozens and really like the elite.simple to install, easy to maintain.stay away from gto-pro and mighty mule,we've never had any sort of luck with them.
also,if you are planning on using it more than once a day, hardwire it in.solar panels are the suck, and i mean that in a very bad way. i'd be glad to help with any questions you have;we've been doing gate openers for about ten years or more. |
