For younger people who only know color movies filled with tons of CGI and shit blowing up, Fail Safe may look like a boring crapfest, but it's one of those things that really reminds us that grew up during the Cold War just how tense those times were. Another one that falls into that category is "On The Beach". What a depressing, but powerful film. |

Worth renting? I read the back of the packaging when I saw it on the shelf at the store the other day, it looked interesting. I think so, good acting all around. Walter Mathau in a serious role, and his character is one real cold bastard And a young Dom DeLouise (not yucking it up). I wonder why they used negative prints when showing the B-58 exterior shots? I wonder why they used negative prints when showing the B-58 exterior shots? The USAF nor the DOD would help with the film or provide stock footage of any of our aircraft at the time. Hence "Vindicator" Bombers and continuity errors when it comes to footage of aircraft being used all shots of aircraft were negative shots |

one of the few movies you will see without a music score. hmm, never noticed that before I would have never known if AMC did not run a bunch of movies one night with no scores. The director deemed it too serious a movie to have a score. Today I can't imagine it having one. |
