A "dive" that I go to, Ringside Cafe - St Petersburg, Fla. Their Black-n-Blue is the bestest ever.

Your not going to get any chain restaurants to compete with either homemade or dive joints.

I probably shouldn't be giving this information out but...Alamo Springs Cafe. It's in the middle of nowhere near a bat cave about 10 miles from Fredericksberg, Texas. It's a dump. I mean an absolute hole. The atmosphere and food is off the charts. If you want to find it get a GPS.

The bat cave near Mason? Details please Sir as I'm about to live in that vicinity and love small local places.

I've been going to that area my whole life, I remember going to a bat cave once when I was 10 or so, our place is actually in London.

It used to be Jungle Jim's in Orlando, but they went out of business there a few years ago.

Apparently they still have a location in Virginia. though.

Around 300 miles and 6 or more hours depending on traffic and when you leave Dallas.

I'll definitely be checking this place out after we move.

Ann's Snack Bar in Atlanta, home of the "Ghetto Burger". Named "Best Burger in America" by the Wall Street Journal.

She's trying to sell it though.

I really enjoyed the cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers at the Wessington Springs SD American Legion Hall when I was out there last October. Steaks weren't too bad either.

Miss anne's is great by my favorite was Carey's Place on Hwy 41 in Marietta Ga.

His little bar / grill was just north of Dobbins A.F.B. and the place had awesome 1/2 lb. burgers.

Sadly the place is long since gone but it will never be forgotten.
