I'd like to put a sub panel in my attached garage. Currently there are only two outlets in the garage, one on the wall and one on the ceiling for the garage door opener. They are both on the same 15 amp circuit.
I would do it myself if the basement and garage weren't finished. The electrical panel is in the basement on the opposite end of the house from the garage. Unfortunately there is only 100 amp service coming into the house. I'd like to put in a 50 amp breaker and run it to a wall mounted panel in the garage and have a couple of 110 outlets and one 220 outlet with the wire run in conduit outside of the wall. I'm curious as to how much an electrician would charge to do this. If it's more than $500, I'm not going to bother with it right now. I've never hired an electrician before, any idea how much it would cost? I will call around and get some quotes, but I was looking for arfcoms opinion first for some reason. |

To get an accurate quote, I would need pics and some dimensions. Pics of where you might think it would work (conduit) run |
