Maxtor SATA3 160GB boot drive (and another 2+ TB of combined SATA/IDE and USB drives hung on the machine)

Does great for 1080P video and the older games I like.  Upgrading isn't possible.  Maxed out the CPU, PSU and no faster GPU for the old style PCI-E x16 slot.

No complaints. The stock fans are excellent, and quiet. The case fit and finish is nice. Airflow is fantastic. There's plenty of room behind the motherboard for hiding cables.

Caching controllers can really pump up the score.  Though at the price of a good one it's cheaper to buy an SSD drive or two.  I got the one I'm using as an eval the vendor didn't want back.  It's suppose to be setup for RAID, but at the moment I have it configured for 4 discrete drives.

I'd wait.  Even Crucial's drives don't saturate the SATA3 bus.  If you're going to drop that kind of cash, may as well get something next year that can actually use SATA3.  Just get an X25-M, and then when you upgrade, slap it in a USB2 enclosure.
