Yeah me either. I was in Publix and saw it and thought it was old.
Says on box Best by Jan 20 2011 and has a new bottle label. I was fucking stoked to say the least.

My Chili's had it on tap on Thursday.

Best large brewery Octoberfest, IMO.

Yes, it is out.  We started swapping out all the Summer Brew last week.

Should be in every market by the end of this week.

Buy more!  I need more ammo!

My brother will be in Munich in the first week of October. He's a teetotaller but promises pictures of the pretty girls.

Sam is good if you like a malty, semi-heavy beer. For you all in the Houston area, check out the Saint Arnold's Octoberfest. Even better than Sam. Another good one is the Meierfest from Rogue. Much lighter. Nothing better than cool, fall air, football on TV and some octoberfest. I am lucky to have Bob's '47 from Boulevard Brewery. It's a GREAT Oct fest.

My Publix had it starting a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised at how early it was out. I've bought two 12 packs so far, including the last one in the cooler yesterday. Sams has it by the case, unfortunately I was in there last Sunday at 11am, and there's no alcohol sales until 1PM . However, like MacArthur, I Shall Return!!!!

I picked up a harvest sampler yesterday.  I'm a pretty big fan of both the Octoberfest and the harvest pumpkin.

I miss Spaten Oktoberfestbier.  Sam wasn't bad, either.

How does it taste this year?

It seemed to me and others on this board that last year's batch had changed and for the worst. It seemed way too bitter and not at all what I recollect from 2006-2008.

SA Octoberfest always has a "meaty" flavor to me.

Right now, I am drinking a Cherry Wheat, similar to the SA.

Except, mine tastes good.

Pfft.  That is one of my favorite Sam Adams beers.

On another note has anyone tried the Boulevard Amber Ale?  Its pretty good.  Definitely a awesome session beer.
