Who here has ever changed thier screen name(that will admit to it) and why? We have a guy in the TN HTF who has a tendancy to change his name after he has gotten enough negative feedback that people stop responding to his ads on the EE. I think it"s crappy, he even welched on a deal with our moderator under one of his previous names.
Who thinks that is worthy of the Ban-Hammer?

ETA @  1907hrs central time: OK now his thread is gone!!!! Musta been kinda sensitive about it or something but it was "themorelands" aka "SS198", aka "moreland281", aka "glock281" and I think I'm forgetting something. He had some 5.7x28 SS198 ammo in the EE and Hank called him out on registering with a new screen name. I'ts been botherin me all day so I thought I'd see what everyone else thought about it. Now his ad has disappeared!

Is this thread about actually changing your username, or creating a new account with a different name?

I doubt the admins would approve a name change just because you have crappy feedback, that would kind of defeat the purpose of feedback...

(I've done neither btw)

Ok I wasn't clear, he re-registers with a new name but has the same old stuff he can"t seem to move like SS198 5.7x28 for $1 a round. Many of us remember the multiple pmag fiasco's where he only delivered to some Marines and Army grunts after they posted in here and the TN HTF, same guy!!!

Correct.

Sometimes deals just go bad. That is why we use feedback for buyers and sellers to make an informed decision.

EE scammers, serial welchers, and other no-goodnicks on the other hand are not tolerated.

I think team members should be allowed to change their screen name with a AKA "Previous Name" near where the team member titles are once every five years or so.

A name change usually goes like this:

30,000 post member:

Hi, you might remember me... I am the guy who posted the thread on sticking my genitals in the blender. My wife and I are going through a nasty divorce and she is trying to get the kids. I would really like to lay low. Could you please change my screenname?

Thanks!

BenisPlender.

Three weeks later from the same member:

Hi, I hate to bother you but I would like to change my screen name. I posted my blender story in another thread and now everyone knows who I am.  Could you please change my screenname... I do not want my employer to read my threads... I work at a blender factory.

Thanks!

DickCuisinart

And a year later:

Hi, I hate to bother you guys again but... I got divorced and fired and would like my old screen name back.  I have an epic thread about toasters planned!

Thanks,

Puree'
