What is the most outrageous pet you have had, or someone you knew has had?
Very f*cking random I know, but I was killing time earlier and came across this website Tigers For Sale online Pretty strange, yet badass
So lets hear it, best I've got is a bunch of friends and I who all had pet snakes at one point or another, or the Chameleon I used to have. |

Thought I remembered reading something that said if you don't watch them closely, they burrow out of yards

I had a childhood friend with a pet skunk.
Knew a guy who kept a "pet" lion. That didn't work out very well for either of them. Know a guy who has a bear, some elk, and deer that are not common in this area, but he has an acreage with the room to care for them. A hamster was as exotic as I got as a child. My wife and I had a house rabbit, which was actually pretty cool. We just had to wrap all the electrical cords he could get at, because he loved to chew on them. Kept him in a cage that was 3' x 3' x6' long. Sometimes he would run around the house for half a day, but he only did his bathroom stuff in his cage. |

Just couldn't keep up with costs or was it aggressive? |

What happened with the lion? Just couldn't keep up with costs or was it aggressive? Both. He kept it in town, a town of about 30,000. He didn't care for it properly, like feeding it right or having a veterinarian do regular check-ups. After he neglected it for a while the city made him get rid of it. Lions don't really make good "pets". He had it for the same reason some people own pit bulls. He wanted the bragging rights or "street cred". "I'm a badass, wanna see my lion?" The city council said "no, Mr. Thug, we don't want to see your lion...eat someone..." |

An assortment of poison dart frogs (really. they're cool). A variety of other frogs inc. Red Eyed Tree Frogs, Argentine Horned Frogs (big - eat mice and birds!), others. Veiled chameleon we hatched from an egg.
Recently a Greater Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo, but now down to a Blue-Fronted Amazon, a Rose Haired tarantula, and a whole bunch of farm critters. |
| My brother in law works for AT&T and he told me he went to go and repair the phone line or install uverse at a guys house in a rural part of Houston. He said the man's house he went to had a lion. After talking to the owner he found out he also had a monkey as well. But, the monkey liked to play and the lion did not agree with it. |

Ive actually heard that skunks make pretty good pets once you get the scent glands removed, supposed to be very smart. Skunks are awesome. Like a cat but cool. I don't think I would trust this, but I have read that many skunk keepers go without descenting and never have a problem. |

In college a guy I ran around with had some family that had a large ranch in the Glass Mountains. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself. They had a pet tom wild turkey named Tom of course, and they had a pet Javlina. I forgot the Javelina’s name but it loved Hubba Bubba bubble gum. Neither one was caged they just roamed around the headquarters. They had gotten both as babies. I asked about their dogs attacking the turkey but they said that they all thought it was one of their own and if a new dog came around that the turkey could handle its self.

I remember this guy:
http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast/10/04/nyc.tiger/ The way he was discovered was he went to the ER for a dogbite and they really didn't believe him that it was a dogbite. |

Quoted: I have a Pied Crow that chases the cats, pulls their tails, and steals their food. He takes a bath in the tub, and has an extensive vocabulary. http://www.fototime.com/C248667657DF949/standard.jpg http://www.fototime.com/03B056B33E349A1/standard.jpg http://www.fototime.com/10CC815AEA90A76/standard.jpg http://www.fototime.com/40C0EFEDBFC6D4C/standard.jpg http://www.fototime.com/6FD8EF7139E99D7/standard.jpg Crows are badass pets! My wife found a baby one (wild) as a kid, and they were able to train it. |

Not mine, but growing up my brother had a boa constrictor. He got it when it was about 3ft, grew it to about 6ft, then musta fed it a bad baby rat because it died.
A local friend of mine and his wife have a pet wild turkey. It must have been attacked by something at one time and wandered onto their farm with a bad but not broken wing. It's now pretty well domesticated, has NO interest in leaving. They got it a domestic hen and life is good for him. It also LOVES to play with their blue heeler. |
