so whats the big deal about this place?
I went and got some beer sirachuan, grren beans and some low mein. the beef was like beef jerky. that shit was no better than panda express and it was 3x as expensive. the womanfolk were nice to look at, though... |

As an Asian who grew up in a pretty traditional home eating Chinese food every day, I happen to think PF Chang's is actually good, though pricey. It's definitely way better than Panda Express. I HATE Panda Express. You should try PF Chang's lemon shrimp... soooo good. |
| PF Changs has only two good things on the menu and those are liquor and calamari. Everything else might be authentic Asian food, but it still tastes like salty Coca Cola syrup. If that is real Asian food I feel sorry for them because it tastes like complete shit. |

I have been to 4 different locations in 3 states. I have yet to have bad food there. We had bad service ONCE, and got the meal and FIVE free appetizer coupons for free. Pricey Chinese, but the best quality I have found with awesome service. The wait is ridiculous if you arrive during the rush. |

I don't know what is up with the PF Changs in your guys' areas but here in LA we have a shitload of authentic Chinese at my disposal and I still go to the PF Changs we have. Don't get me wrong, I love all of the great Chinese food offerings here, and you know its the real shit because half of China fucking lives in certain areas.
PF Changs always has great service, LIQUOR and a full bar, and pretty damn good (even though Americanized) food. The prices are cheap as hell, too...I think that most people assume it will be expensive because they keep it nice inside, so it keeps the trash out, but seriously its like 8-12 dollars a plate and that comes with as much free rice and you can stuff your craw with. If that is somehow ten-thousand times more expensive than whatever your spending at Panda, please just stick with buying your dollar menu crap |
| I've never had a bad meal at PF Chang's... The food isn't as "heavy" as Chinese Restaurant food to me, I prefer foods that are a little lighter in my stomach. It is more expensive than a neighborhood chinese restaurant, but at least the furniture isn't 1970's with a coat of dust just as old. If I have a problem with PF Changs, the open atmosphere makes it really hard to talk because it's so loud. The one near me is really busy all the time, so casual conversation is difficult. I took a chick there on a first date once, we had to extend the date elsewhere just so we could talk. |

PF Changs is OK at best in my opinion and I have eaten there a few times, although the food was never "bad" it was never great either...
I personally prefer this place called "Stir Crazy" which is a really cool chinese food place were you can get traditional chinese food OR my personal favorite you can create your own stir fry, You tell the waitress what kind of meat you want "chicken, steak, shrimp, etc, etc" and whether you want rice or noodles as a base and then instead of a salad bar they have a stir fry toppings/ingredients bar where you pick ALL of what you want in the stir fry AND what kind of sauce/sauces you want and then you hand it to the cooks and they make it right in front of you while you wait, It's REALLY great and you always have enough left over for lunch the next day...It's about 14 dollars a person which I dont think is all that bad for basically 2 meals per person |

Quoted: i don't even really eat chinese food anymore, thai food is where it's at. Most any Thai place is better than any Chinese place I've ever been. Better flavors, ingredients. Americanized chinese food is nothing but syrupy sauces and fried meats. (ones that most folks really like anyway...General Tso's isn't a real dish except here ;)) PF Chang's does have good food overall...just overpriced. |
|
I haven't taken a crap in three weeks...
What food have you been eating... PF Changs mostly... |

20 percent better than ghetto china buffet, 300 percent more expensive. Just another in the new wave of hyperexpensive "upscale" chain restaurants. New? I've been eating there for over a decade. The Orange Peel Beef is freaking awesome. My wife and I go to Pei Wei (owned by PF Changs) all the time, it's almost the same food but notably cheaper, it's delicious as well. Oh, it isn't on the menu anymore, but PF Changs makes a wicked Sesame Chicken if you ask |
|
PF Changs looks pretty.
The food? It's OK. But typically in any city, you can find better quality, and better tasting, Chinese. We have a FANTASTIC place here in Birmingham Alabama. The food is so much better than what you can get at Changs, and the prices are much lower as well. Changs seem to me to be popular with the crowd that cares more about whether or not a place is trendy, than if the place is good. |
|
I've eaten at PF Changs a few times - I've never been impressed with the food. I don't know why some people love it - I think just because unlike most Chinese restaurants, this one has an air of upscale.
Though it's owned by a guy who's not Chinese at all - Paul Fleming (thus the PF in PF Changs). |

We took my Mom out to PF Chang's in Jacksonville for her Birthday on Thursday. First time I've been there. Had Chang's spicy chicken....damn good. I took my wife to that one (assuming only 1 in Jax) and she went on about the food for a week. It was excellent. |

Way over-rated and way overpriced. It's just another trendy upscale restaurant. We have a similar Mexican restaurant called "Ted's Escondido Cafe". They have damn good salsas but everything else is decent at best. Very high priced and there is almost always a wait. I just don't get it with these places.
Fortunately, we live in a city with large Mexican and Asian populations and we know where to go to get "real" food. |

Quoted: To pick a Chinese restaurant, go to where the black haired folks (Chinese) are eating. If they eat there, then you eat there. Going to any upscale chain restaurant doesn't ensure that you'll get good food for the money. The only Chinese restaurant I've been to where other Chinese people were eating was in Vancouver, BC. It had this ENORMOUS ballroom-sized dining area and it was packed, and the back wall where the kitchen were was aquariums full of seafood. 90% of the customers were Chinese, very strange for me to see. My host who brought me there ordered plain roast chicken. No sauce or anything. very disappointing. |
