I didnt get lunch today and decided to have a nice dinner. I figured it was as good a time as any to do a dinner pic.

I made bacon and scallop stuffed steak served on a bed of scallops. I used a steak marinade that my dad gave me and its cooked rare. Also have some cheese shells and salad. A friend left some Landshark here last weekend so I'm trying that. NRA mug is full of iced tea. Rifle is a marlin .45-70, knife is Shun. Reload is in brown bag.

11/10 for levergun and not another AR15.

It's ok.

Presentation is weak. Dinner seems incomplete. Weapon position is awkward.

I will give you a 7.5.

I wouldn't marinade steak normally and I've never even heard of stuffed steak but that actually looks really tasty.  The salad does too.  I give it a 9/10 because your handgun is missing.

Ok rifle may be in an awkward position but what more could you ask for from dinner?

why would you stuff a steak instead of making another side?

imho you f.u. a good steak!

then you marinated it?

what next you cooked it on a electric stove?

1 out of 10 for the gun you supper sucks!
- 1 for square plate and that leaves you at 0

9/10 only because big 45/70 necessitates sidearm

Stuffed and rare shouldn't go in the same sentence if you ask me. If the steak is rare, how is the bacon being cooked?

9/10 for the .45/70 though.

I was prepared to love this until I scrolled down and saw those bloody, pulsating chunks of flesh.

Still going to give you 7/10 though. Would have liked a better view of that sweet longgun!

I normally don't judge others' dinner pics if I just posted one, but here goes. Stuffed steak seems pretty bush league. It's steak. It doesn't need anything crammed up its ass. Then you have all those tooth picks to deal with. It's like a bad science experiment. The steak on the right looks like a swollen cow's vagina. I personally find Landshark to be salty crap, and I'm not a fan of your presentation. Next time clear the junk off your table and take a nice photo. Have some respect.

6/10.

WTF cut of steak is that, btw?

It may be tasty, but both of those pieces of meat look like vaginas..........so it is a FAIL.

And......there is no measuring device.

I have to give you a 9/10, being a little picky: I love surf and turf, but you can't stuff a steak with scallops. They have a very delicate taste, and you don't want to hide that by throwing them inside a steak.

Have you ever had stuffed steak? Also, my plates are OD green. That should count for something.

The scallops and bacon were cooked first and then stuffed in the steak before it all went on the grill.

I dont really like the peep sight thats on it. Most of the time I look through it and use the open sights. I'm much more accurate with it that way. I will probably remove it and add an optic. Its going to spend a lot of time with me in a tree this fall.

First and foremost I have to give you all the credit in the world for putting yourself out there and posting a dinner pic in the GD. I really mean that. If you are serious about your question to me then please IM me and I can give you some tips thay I have learned from the 6 years that I have been doing dinner pics.

First, you can do a search of me as topic author for the last two years. You will see thay I am a prolific dinner pic poster. I have recieved some very good and consistent feedback. The formula is simple:

1. keep it simple and plan it out in advance.
2. The simple details are important. Balanced and properly cooked food. Simple things lilke napkin, fork and knife properly placed. Interesting firearms (hand and long gun in a ready positon based upon your handedness), reloads. Less is more, one handgun one rifle/shotgun. One drink in addition to water that looks like you're actually gonna drink it.
3. A simple description of the meal and a short "how to".
4. Simple and elegant.

I'd post examples but would never srep on your post. Don't take the comments personally. We all have preferences so don;t discount peoples opinion since by posting the dinner pic you are asking for opinions.

Good job!
