Any Idea why my water heater would suddenly be heating the hot water too scalding hot all the time ?
It is an electric unit with no obvious external thermostat. There are some access covers/ panels on the exterior. It started this last week. If You turn on the hot water the smallest amount possible it is still really really close to being too hot. There is no middle ground. It is cold or too hot. House is 10 years old. We moved in at the end of may. I was told the water heater was newish when we bought the house. TIA Slimm |

Yep..just gotta turn down the temperature. "Hot water heater"...heh. Always makes me giggle. ![]() I know I know
So the thermostat turned it self up ? It has been just fine for the past three months ? May have been messed with by previous owner. Same thing happened to me. I screwed with the settings, was fine for a while, then got real hot and shutoff completely. Called company and got a new thermostat sent and set back to factory settings and has been fine ever since. |
