Can they be detected in metal detectors at courts and airports and such? As an answer to the actual question, the Polymer portion of the handguard could realistically pass through a metal detector without being deteched (No Metal). However most have heat shields installed so as to not roast the hands or melt the polymer which would most likely be detected. The major issue you would run into is the rest of the rifle they are attached to

Okay. I'm going to give you the truth on this Glock 7. The only people that are allowed to get them are top secret agent man. They have a stealth feature button on the slide that renders the gun invisible, but you have to watch the stealth meter because you only get a few minutes before it runs out, then you can be caughted. |

Airport metal detectors can pick up solid polymer too. I have a polymer Kubaton persuader that I left in my pocket to go through the detectors and the walk through detector found it, then I had to go through the stand up x-ray, but they didn't take it from me, and I had it with me on the plane. |

Uhhh...a METAL detector can NOT pick up polymer, unless your Kubaton has metal inside of it somewhere. Now a body scanner / xray machine CAN pick up the shape of a polymer weapon such as a Kubaton...but NOT a metal detector. And no offense to the original poster who started this thread, but are you freaking serious? Are you even a gun owner? Do you really think a metal barrel, metal slide, metal firing pin, metal cartridges and bullets, etc. etc. could get through a metal detector??? A polymer handgun is not all polymer. No offense if you aren't a gun owner and don't know any better...it would make sense for you to ask if you've never owned a gun before. ETA: But if this was a question to bring about LOLs regarding Glock 7s and Die Hard 2 quotes, then I forgive you. |
