Why not just be a nice guy and send him a message as a heads up about the gun being a AOW with the foregrip?  He could just pull that picture.

What a stupid, stupid rule. I can see why people would assume it's ok to do that... because to think there's a law against it is just ridiculous.

Hope he doesn't get busted for it.

Is it the law????

A local gun shop here had AR pistols for sale............and he attached front pistol grips to them.I printed out the law from the fucktard ATF website and gave it to him.He didn't think it was illegal,so he calls the ATF retard agent in Des Moines to ask first hand.

Retard ATF agent won't give him an answer-tells him to read the law.Gun shop owner says he has it right in front of him and isn't sure.Stupid retarded ATF agent dances around for 15 minutes and never gives him a straight ahswer.Gun shop owner takes pistol grips off to be on the safe side.

Serious case of WTF????

That would be a worst case scenario... I would be curious to see if there has ever been a case brought to trial for someone attaching a VFG to a pistol...? I would never do it, but just curious.

I doubt any individual has ever even been charged with something like a 922r violation either. Just interesting (yet sad) how convoluted some of these "laws" are.

Yes. 922r doesn't apply to pistols either (therefore it doesn't apply to AK pistols as well as SBRed AKs)

So a plain old draco does not apply to 922r?

So a plain old draco does not apply to 922r?

Correct. Only applies to rifles and shotguns.

"It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any

semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun

prohibited from importation under the Section 925(d)(3)...as not being

particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes...

Also, 27 C.F.R. Section 478.39 (formerly 178.39) states-

...(a) No person shall assemble a
semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun using more

than 10 of the imported parts listed in paragraph (c) of this section if the

assembled firearm is prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) as not

being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purpose..."

Oh, and it has come to my attention that there is now a few conflicting ATF letters out there regarding SBRs and 922r...I just read one from 2009 that makes it sound like 922r would apply to a SBR AK...the ATF doesn't even know how to interpret 922r...
