I have a well irrigation system. My check valve went bad and I replaced it last week. I can not get it to prime now. I turn the hose on and wait a minute then turn the sprinklers on. I wait a few minutes and turn the water off. After a few seconds I loos all pressure and no more water.

Can anyone give me some ideas to fix this.

Thanks

I was hoping that your were installing sprinklers  in your house.

I also thought the OP was installing sprinklers in his house when I read the title.

It would make your homeowners ins. go down.

I'm still not clear what's going on. You have a pressure tank, right?

Dirt in or bad check valve. Check valve in backward?

I do have a pressure tank.

I replaced the check valve.  I filled a 5 gallon bucket with water and put the pipe and check valve in the bucket and it ran fine.  I just cant seem to get the water out of the well.  (hope that made sense)

Try pouring water down into the pipe running down into the well to bring the water level up closer to the pump then reconnect and turn on the pump.

I tried that also.  I thought the water level might be low.  We got a lot of rain last week.  Still didn't fix it.  I think I have air leaking in some where.
