LONDON: In a bizarre incident, Muslim
radicals spat at British troops taking part in a parade on Tuesday,
leaving
watchers outraged.
According to Daily Star, over 100 supporters of an
association called the “Muslim against Crusades” hurled abuses and
spat as members of the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment marched
through the
streets on Tuesday.
The regiment recently lost five men in
Afghanistan during a six-month tour. They strongly condemned the
incident.
Charlene Byrne, 24, whose partner Lance Corporal Scott Hardy, 26, was
killed in
an explosion, said: “It makes me so angry.”
A police
spokesman said two people had been arrested for public order offences.
