I know Spikes are good quality, I have a spikes middy rifle and 2 lowers already....I was under the impression that BCM has about the best BCG though. Just getting opinions on the BCM stuff actually.   :)

In all seriousness, a friend of mine just ordered a BCM a few months ago and I helped him put his lower together and get everything assembled.  Seems like a very nice upper.

Close your eyes, move the mouse around, left-click, open your eyes, most likely you hit another BCM-Spikes thread.

Well, they are both 1/7 twist so.....so around 3200 fps?

PUIBTP: poll up in before the poll!

ETA: the only reason I am considering BCM over spikes is the BCG, Spikes has a $50 discount which is appealing, but I have to pay tax :(

build it.

if you search arround for deals, brownells has great prices and promo codes all the time.

I'd buy a quality barrel and BC elsewhere though.

I built the lowers, I don't have the tools or knowledge to put together the upper.

ETA: The BCM uppers are made by LMT according to this on their website. http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=LMT+16+URG&CartID=1

There is no doubt in my mind LMT is in the top 3 as far as quality goes.

the tools will save you their cost. vice block, barrel wrench, headspace guages.

Just tighten the barrel nut down between 30-80 ftlbs and get the next notch to line up with the gas tube hole.

I dont even use a torque wrench.

as long as the part is milspec, dont worry about quality its the same.  Look at cost difference most of the time your paying for a name. (IE colt vs RRA) The only parts I'd spend the extra money on are the bolt and barrel because they effect accuracy and contain the 60,000PSI

Again, the only part I am on the fence with is the BCG, BCM is supposed to have about the best BCG made. Who makes the best barrel in your opinion?

In general? I would say Noveske.

kreiger for accuracy

I'd go with colt or bushy for a battle rifle.

Touche' , But I can't afford $550 for a barrel. I'm probably going to go with this for $680 shipped.
