I have to buy a copy of Windows XP to fix my fucking desktop.  



I found one on the interweb for $80.  Download + $10 for a disc.  



How do I do this? I have never had to mess with the burner before.  I have both DVD and CD/r

You don't need to format the disc unless it is a DVD-RW with data on it.

You will want to burn the file as an .ISO to a DVD-R/RW. I used Magic ISO before I got Windows 7 Beta (Now 7 Pro).

Once you've written the disc, pop it into the PC you are installing it to. If it does not boot from the CD, you will want to go into the BIOS to change the boot order.
