my new job is at spectrum powder coating in Houston, so far I've been using an aluminum oxide blasting media to prep the metal for powder coating.

we also do cerakote.  any color suggestions for what my AR will look like in the future?

I'd love a step by step cerakote tutorial.

I vote for a light grey.

Be advised,  though Cerakote is awesome stuff, it CAN be chipped off and it also does go on thick enough to affect dimensionally sensitive parts.

I had a barrel Cerakoted before the FSB was installed and that was not workable.  I had to blast the barrel back down and now my choices are to

install the FSB first and have it recoated,  or go with a different finish.

I had my Springfield 1911 Cerakoted and I'm a huge fan. The texture is great in the hands and it looks outstanding.
