And I respond with: The federal government can withhold money and grants from Arizona and I'm sure this dirty administration wouldn't hesitate to, however, once the majority of states pass laws similar to Arizona's laws, the feds will have to back down. The problem is that this is what the PEOPLE want, and the federal government needs to realize that they are elected to SERVE the people. As far as the Hispanics go, I don't have a problem with Hispanics (or Germans, Russians, Iraqis, or Nigerians for that matter). I welcome people to come to this country. Our country was intended to be a melting pot of cultures and that is the great thing about our country. I just ask that it's done legally. When my ancestors came through Ellis Island from Ireland and from Bohemia, they did so legally, by registering themselves at the island. THAT is what our country was founded on, not sneaking in and sucking from the government tit. Oh and by the way, the inscription on the Statue of Liberty reads: "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" , But I know the one you are talking about, which is on a plaque inside the pedestal that reads "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". Just had to throw that out there... As far as the immigrant farmers go, I'm not sure if you're talking about the Indentured Servants from the 1800s or the ones here now, but assuming you are talking about today, the employers need to be punished. That's the only way to correct this problem. On the slavery issue, it definitely did end in 1865 at the end of the War of Northern Aggression. People are no longer bought and sold into bondage as they were then. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s was not slavery, it was a fight for equal rights. And yes, today women and minorities may still be fighting for equal opportunities, however that is not slavery either. Whew....a little long winded I know, but I wanted to make sure I was able to adequately respond to each of your points. I realize we disagree, however, I don't think we disagree as much as you think. I welcome anyone into my country as long as they integrate into society and enter the country legally. Read some of Theodore Roosevelt's papers on immigration. He was truly a very intelligent man. Also, if you care to read about the harm the Civil Rights Movement did, read "White Liberals and Black Rednecks" by Thomas Sowell. I enjoy this discussion as I often don't find someone who is well versed on the issues and cares to discuss them in detail. Thanks Chris! I can't wait to see how he responds. Who here supports racists drafting and introducing laws in the state of Arizona? then he dares to say that those that support this bill are "misguided" when in fact, he's calling anyone who supports it racist. |

The guy is obviously a left wing moron and all the logic, facts and stats in the world won't convince him otherwise, just like he won't convince you. So why waste your time? I know it feels good to fuck with them, but punching your clown feels better and is over quicker. |

Now it's to the point where Bush has been out of power for 2 years and we have an entire room full of influential people(including our current President) laugh at an insult aimed at him by a member of British Nobility while in the White House. |

oh i have asked him all kinds of questions, but as stated, liberals don't handle logic. an example of this is that this fucktard wrote diatribe about how much the constitution means to him and that he values the 1st amendment and the 14th dear to his heart. so i asked him if he valued it so much, would he stand a line and shed blood to preserve it for his children. his response was, i am anti-gun, but someone else can do that. to be honest, yes it is a waste to respond directly to these asshats, but it's not so much the asshats thati am concerned with, it's those that read these asshat's bullshit that i am concerned with, especially if posting facts makes a difference.
