My wife is getting some pretty good scenic photos. She wants to frame, and sell prints at local fairs/flea markets/etc. Just looking for pricing input. I'm confident that people will like, and want them.

Imagine that you were shooping for prints for your home.

What size would you be looking for, and how much would you pay (assuming that it's what you were looking for)?

She doesn't want to overprice them.

It's going to depend on the area (small town vs. larger city).  My dinky home town of about 1500 people has some folks that sell framed photos in a local eatery.   Decent pics with a frame and about 14X20 size go for $75-250 if I remember.

It's a very small town full of rich tourists.

Framing, matting, and the picture will need to work together to sell.

price it higher than you think someone will pay and see what happens

you are testing the market here

I would say don't frame, anyone looking for Art will already want to match there frame themes. I would price them $50-$100 over what your thinking as a low number. It's not just a photo it's Art.

Any link to the photos? You can PM and I would give you more feedback

I would say 11x14 and 16x20 are more normal sizes

She should really check out some local art or craft shows to see what people are selling.  Any time I have seen what you are referring to the photographer has everything from a post card to a fancily framed poster size and everything in-between.  You want to have a variety of different sizes of each image so if someone does not want to spend the big bucks on a large expensive framed image they wont have to go home empty handed.  You also want to look in to commercial labs who can give you decent prices for quantity and can do a better job then if you got them printed at Wally-world.

Here's a link to a few pics.

Any input would be apreciated.
