We used to use a booster of TNT to set off our ANFO. When I was a kid, we always used dynamite to set it off. You could buy dynamite in hardware stores back then.

Thats why det cord, and detonators are more closely guarded and regulated than plain Amm. Nitrate. and virtually all other blasting agents
This goes as well at quarrys where all sorts of explosives are used to blast rock. The key is in the detonation. Just ask the asshat from times square that tried to use firecrackers to set of propane tanks, gas cans and a trunk full of scotts "weed and feed" |
