| While fishing offshore this weekend I decided to feed my M&P15 as fast as I could and when I was done I learned about "bump-firing". Is it safe? I know my barrle and rails were hot as hell after 60rnds(No handguards only rubber ladder covers). |
| It's just to simulate full auto fire. I had a registered M16A1 for a lot of years and full auto is kind of a kick at first but mainly a waste of ammo, unless you have a platoon of VC charging you. The first shot will be on target and the rest..who knows where. Rapid, controlled semi-auto fire is much more effective in a hand held weapon. |

| THIS is the only way that i think its safe to do it, unless your really good at it and can do it on your shoulder. |

Quoted: It can be dangerous because you are shooting the rifle too fast to stop should you encounter a squib round or a case head seperation. The next bullet might be your last. Wow, how do F/A weapons deal with this?! You don't have to loop your thumb in your belt loop to bump fire, just hold the front of the gun with your hand and don't hold the pistol grip but put your finger in front of the trigger. Move the gun forward with your front hand so the trigger is depressed by your finger and if you do it right, the process will repeat. This can be done from the shoulder or hip. |
