I bought a Poulan from Lowes or Home Depot a year ago (can't remember which).  It takes a while to warm up, but, after starting, if I let it idle at half-choke for a couple of minutes and then no-choke for 3 more minutes before using it, it runs very well.

I used a Kawasaki KRB750B for my business, awesome machine. Their entire power line is very good stuff for the money, never had any problems with them.

I use an older John Deere BP50 for around the house, which is an older unit.

I haven't seen much Kawasaki around here.

All the lawn crews I see are 100% Stihl here.

My neighbor/landlord-who owns a campground-has a Stihl and A) It sounds like an A-10 warming up and B) The discharge is about the same. You can dig holes with that fucker. VERY powerful.

But he paid over $500, IIRC. Still, it's REAL worksaver.

I have used Stihl backpack blowers in the past and they worked well and were pretty reliable. Used to cut 60 lawns a week  so they were used a lot and held up well.

Echo or Shindaiwa are the way to go. Echo it no longer making equipment for Shin...

The Stihl BR500/550/600 are their 4mix and are 4 stroke w/ 2 stroke mix. They are having terrible issues of carbon issue due to their porting design to lube the crankcase.

Unless you bought one of the first 4-mix models, which were plagued with issues.

Echo. Ours is at least 10 years old, accidently ran straight gas once and it still fires right up and runs great

If you're a homeowner with acre or so, and lots of hardwoods then the BR600 is the way to go.
