The post below is from an anonymous source in the Deep South; can anyone confirm his information?
I had coffee last night with some volunteer fire department guys that just returned from Yazoo City, Mississippi where a tornado wreaked havoc. They told me a lot about the federal governments role now days in sending in supplies and law enforcement for areas of disaster. It seems that the federal government has given the states huge grants to assemble and outfit what they call regional response teams or either regional task force consisting of about 200 people on each team. The fed gave all this money out after Katrina to "prepare" for whatever, whenever needed. The task forces are broken down into law enforcement, search and rescue and engineers that brings food, shelter, showers, toilets, uniforms, etc. Yep, UNIFORMS. The uniforms are given out to the task force members as they arrive to the area. During Katrina the city of New Orleans had cops from all over the United States. Even now when deployed the response teams get paid federal funded overtime from their home city or employer. Cities and towns allow firemen or police or EMS people to be on the team and get federal money while "deployed". Back to the uniforms. The uniforms are marked with Homeland Security Protection Force Team logos. That way all the cops from all over everywhere suddenly transform into a federal task force. Instead of wearing the uniform of their department they wear the Homeland Security Protection Force uniforms. I believe that makes the average cop feel more empowered and less likely to feel like he/she is accountable as they would be if they were identified with their local departments. Also, when local cops deal with local people there is usually some degree of cultural understanding. Imagine a bunch of cops moving into an area and knowing no one and suddenly being transformed from the small town cop to a full fledged federal agent security force member with the buttoning of a uniform. Remember the old lady in New Orlens they pig piled on in her kitchen because she wanted to be left alone? Remember the cops were wearing different uniforms? Not anymore. The feds figured out a way to use our own local police, fire and ambulance people as their tools. The good old boys like my volunteer firemen friends think they're just helping out their neighbors. They are part of the supply team but they are supplying everything for the citizen soldiers that will be tackling our grandmothers and even us to take our guns and supplies if they are ordered to by the feds who's uniforms they now wear and by whom they are paid. They thought I was off my rocker to tell them they were blindly being turned into a para-military force designed to police the citizenry in times of disaster. martial law or civil disobedience or anytime the powers yell, "DEPLOY" they blindly say YES SIR and off they go with their new TASK FORCE uniforms, federal pay while empowered by the feds, drive fed purchased trucks, cars, etc. The use of such Task Forces have been discussed in a previous thread I believe. But I learned a lot listening to these guys brag. One of them thought it was so cool how the local volunteer firemen and local cops are on an equal public perception as the state police or full time feds because the all wear the Homeland Security Uniforms. He said the locals were very impressed that the federal government had stepped in and sent in rescue teams when really the manpower was mostly all from Mississippi but no one could tell because of the Homeland Security uniforms. Anyone else know more about how these teams operate? I asked about who gave law enforcement authority, the state or federal government but the firemen didn't know. They were just too happy to be a part of such a cool thing as a task force and to tell their friends that they are now "federal agents" during times of disasters. I am more interested now than ever because I heard about it from guys that actually participate in such teams. I seem to remember a quote that the US president obama made about creating a federal security force for the homeland. Well, it has apparently happened. |
| If this was real, and it was put into place during Katrina, then we would have seen some evidence of it during Hurricane Ike, correct? Nothing of the sort. I worked in the hardest hit portions of SE TX, some that experienced a 15 foot storm surge. The only thing even close was the deployment of hundreds of federal protective service contract guards at government relief sites (primarily FEMA), but they were all appropriately uniformed, with uniforms bearing the name of the company who was contracted by FPS. This is more Alex Jones B.S. Now FPS itself is a bit intriguing, look up that organization, they shave 8% off every contract for "contracting and management of contracts" yet I am told that no one has ever seen an FPS Agent during one of these disasters, even though they have primary oversight responsibility. They have spent enormous amounts of tax dollars (hundreds of thousands) on the purchase of AR15's, M4's and other weapons, as well as marked "police" vehicles, yet most of the FPS personnel are private contractors who provide their own weapons.....hmmm. |
