The reporter hit the "gunshow loophole" talking points hard, said that the Sub-2K's designer is best known for the Tec-9 "frequently used by criminals", and dropped prejudicial anti-gun language here and there.

OTOH, he and his sources actually bothered to find out what the Sub-2K actually is, didn't call it an armor piercing, heat seeking, baby killing AK47 machine gun for once:

The rifle is unusual in that it fires pistol rounds — in this particular gun’s case, 9-millimeter rounds. It fires as quickly as one can pull the trigger; it is not a machine gun. The number of bullets it holds varies with the size of the magazine. Kel-Tec sells it with 10-round magazines.

It is, in effect, a low-powered rifle. Unlike those of some rifles, its bullets probably would not penetrate a police officer’s bullet-resistant vest, a law enforcement official said.

It was unclear what attracted Mr. Shahzad to that particular gun. “Why not just get a pistol if somebody wants a handgun round?” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment on the case.

One theory: “It looks more intimidating than a pistol. It’s an intimidating-looking contraption. It’s black, it has some plastic and polymer — it has that military look, but all it really is a really big handgun.”

These people who are scared at the mere sight of a gun need to drop their sacks and learn how to use one. Maybe obtian a CHL and make personal protection a personal responsibility. I'm sure he had a knife to why dont we outlaw those! I dont think terroist should have guns but if anyone who is on the no fly list cant buy a gun whats to stop some proggressive fool from putting everyone on the no fly list or classifying them as a terrorist. This would effectively constitute a nationwide gun ban without the passage of any specific legislation. If it were illegal for someone on the no fly list to own a gun.

The treasonous SOB didn't even use the gun, and that's all the GD media can focus on...

The end is nigh.

I only read the NYT when I run out of bathroom tissue to wipe my ass with.
