Are there any decent options for electronic ears under $50? I've searched google a bit, but it's pretty damned hard to actually get real info on which ones are worth a damn and which ones are worthless garbage.
Anyone have any experience with difference brands? I need a pair for the girlfriend and I - something with soft bits around the ears as a few of the pairs she's tried end up hurting her jaw. |

I also purchased the cheapo Caldwell muffs from Midway. The battery contacts are a joke, requiring frequent reinsertion of the batteries. Midway refunded my money without requiring that they be returned, which is nice. However, after very little additional use, the circuit in the left ear no longer works. I doubt that the set provided more than twelve hours total service life  Pretty much a waste. |

Got these on sale at Opticsplanet.com for right at $50. They're $63 there right now. I've been happy with them. They amplify normal sound nicely and do a good job with the louder stuff. They've been on numerous range trips and made it through a Defensive handgun and carbine class without a problem.

Got a couple pair of these from Harbor freight a couple years ago and really like em.

The only drag is that if you use them for low/no light practice, the guys will give you hell, because the red led lights up your position. |

Yesterday my girlfriend wore my Peltor Tactical 7 Classic model for about three hours and said they were great.
Good sound and very comfortable. I think they cost me about $100 three or four years ago. More than the $ you wanted to spend, I know, but the cheaper ones didn't do it for me. |
