Loved…

DeValera was a moronic idealistic and cowardly cunt, (Irish when it suited him, American when he got caught), who drove Ireland, which was a rich and prosperous country in 1922, into decades of desperate poverty with his retarded 'ourselves alone' policy. The day the bastard died was a great day and Ireland could finally emerge from the mess he drove us into and get back on it's feet.

We always had a photo of the big fella on the wall in our house, and my Grandfather would curse and spit at the mention of the name of DeValera to the day he died.

Ol' Michael gave the Brits what they deserved.  Can't say too much for some of the company he kept, but he stomped out a little more British Empire and gave the reigns of freedom back to the people they belonged to, and that's always a good thing.

My cousin said that DeValera was responsible for severing what could have been a tremendously economically beneficial partnership between Ireland and the US by poisoning the Irish image of expatraited Irishmen and the bonds between Ireland and the US.

I got to shake his hand at the opening of the new Air & Space museum in DC, way back when, my father was head curator of exhibits there until he retired in the 80's, he seemed like a real nice guy and actually answered a couple of questions I had about the space program.
