Anybody CCW a .45 (in my case a 1911)

and have a 9mm service pistol for bug out scenarios due to lighter weight ammo, easier to procure, common NATO round, etc etc?

Am I odd for doing this, or even considering it?

Lots of people carry 45's concealed. Sometimes I carry a Kimber CDP II 4" 1911. It is thinner than a lot of guns out there. In a bug out situation it is fine. If you are not carrying the same rounds as those you are against, just take there gun and ammo.

Yes

(You are odd)

My primary CCW would remain my carry weapon....my nightstand gun (with a light affixed to it) would be with me as well.
My rifles would be in the mix as well.

Weight never even crossed my mind

I carry a combat commander and own a Sig 226, ammo was pretty much my main reason for buying it.

For CCW, I'll usually carry my 1911 or my HK P7.

All of my fun gear is set up for my Glock 19.
