Well the 2009 Deadliest Catch crab season airs tonight. Anyone going to watch?
Anyone going to get their Red Bull, pots of coffee, cartons of cigarettes, ready to pay some tribute. Oh how about biting the head off a herring? I'm just going to watch with several pints of Leinenkugel's Classic Amber served in a frosty mug. I can't wait. Should be good.

My DVR's been recording DC all day. Only a few hours til it airs, until then - I'm enjoying some Guinness. Yeah, they've got a couple new episodes on tonight. I don't know if they aired them earlier in the week or not, but IIRC two of the new episodes tonight are the King Crab season from last year, and Opillio Crab season from last year. Haven't seen them so they might be season recap episodes. |

It was when they were offloading Opies when he had the seizure, He passed away a few weeks later in February. Rip Capt. Phil
According to the CM's website, they also had reduction gear problems, and the boat is still out opie fishing. |

This is what reality television should be. The crabbing was there long before Discovery. Sure, they changed a bit but it isn't scripted. There are times when the camera is noted, like when Jake on the NW lost his sister. Or when it gets hot. It is more of a documentary than a contest. |

Not trying to spoil the thead. Not saying it to start a conflict. I watched it the first season and part of the second. After the novelty wore off and I understood the process, I realized it's nuthin' but a male soap opera. |

I enjoy the show because crab fishing looks like a fun thing to try once. They are a bunch of drama queens however I suspect that they have to stage a lot of the hissy fits for the ratings. Eh, as stressed as they seem, it's probly normal. How many months is crab season? Work a few months and than get paid up to 55 Grand? It's gotta be worth the danger and lack of sleep, and stress. |
