I have purchased 2 things that require adult signature in the last 2 weeks.  One was ammo from the CMP that arrived by FedEx at 8AM on the fucking dot and was signed for without incident.  The second was supposed to fucking be delivered today, but I suppose that is too hard.  Their records say an attampt was made at 4:12PM while the person was there and the doorbell never rang.  They were sitting at my house watching TV not playing with fucking power tools.  They WOULD have heard the bell.

Now I have to explain to this person that is doing me a huge favor why they wasted so much time waiting for a fucking package again tommorow.  I know exactly what is going on, but I can't prove a damn thing.  Adult signature packages require someone to be there, right?  Well there are too many fucking lazy people in this world so many wait until they get a note on the door to arrange for someone to be home.  The dumb ass fucking driver has now decided to just start putting up notes on the first attempt so his precious time isn't wasted DOING HIS FUCKING JOB ATTEMPTING TO MAKE CONTACT FOR A SIGNATURE ON THE OFF CHANCE I'M A LAZY MORON WHO DIDN'T MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.  Well guess what you union fucktard, I did and now I am pissed.  FUCK!

This is why I get stuff delivered at work.

I never had this problem until the last few years.  Now that exact problem has happened several times.

I'm not sure if the delivery companies are putting more stress on drivers and some are responding by faking "customer not home" or what.

I say the easy way to solve the problem is have GPS transponders in the trucks.  If I call UPS and tell them the guy never came down my street, they can find out that's true.  As it stands now, I've had repeated lies about deliveries and none are ever followed up because it's easy to dismiss as he said/she said.

That won't work for me.  I don't think that my boss would appreciate my having a shipment of ammo delivered at my work.  Did I mention that I work at a NC state prison?

Well he technically showed up, he just didn't want to take a few seconds to find out if anyone is home.  It took him longer to fill out the NOGO tag than it would been to know on the door.

I wish I could have had it delivered to work, but it was a C&R purchase and some jobs frown upon that.  Also, some distributors have a policy to refuse shipping of firearms to any address other than that listed on your license.

EDIT: just got a call from the hub.  They started talking about scanning packages and GPS coordinates and seem to feel that is evidence he attempted to make the delivery.  Hell, half the time they don't even knock when they deliver a regular package.  If they're in THAT big of a hurry, its not inconceivable to me that he just didn't want to wait, filled out a NOGO tag, placed it on the door so he didn't have to wait to find out nobody is home, and drove off.

Missed my ammo delivery by a few minutes it turns out. Had to find the tag that blew off the door. Am going to will-call now.

Hey, it happens. I've almost missed a doorbell while watching TV, it wasn't too loud but I was engrossed in the game. It's possible.

Hehe, that probably wouldn't go over so well. However I'm by a wide margin not the only person here who gets their ammo delivered to their desk

LA LA LA LA I CANNOT HEAR YOU LA LA LA

j/k - waiting for UPS to deliver 5 crates of ultra-rare parts for my next build, checked the website about 100 times today. Should be in my hands by 9AM then Ill feel a lot better!

Worst one I had was Fedex requiring a signature for a package that had 3 rounds in it. Three.

A couple times here lately I've used the will-call option to pick it up in the evening after the truck returns, but instead they make a second delivery attempt the same day.  I guess maybe its because I'm on the edge of town on their way back to the hub.  Works for me though, saves a trip.  Other times I'm home and they drop it off without ringing or knocking.  I don't understand that at all.  Why would they not bother to knock?
