Let's say the S is about to HTF. It's not going to be TEOTWAWKI, but it will be bad. No government type of situation. A bad SHTF that could last for a year or two.
You are informed ahead of time, and you will need to leave to your bug out location in 1 week. With this time frame, you have plenty of padding, so you don't need to worry about making it to your location on time, as long as you leave in 1 week. So, what do you do with your weeks time? Debts will be gone once it's all over, so maxing out credit cards aren't an issue. What do you go buy, etc.? Also assume you are the only one that has any advanced warning, so you will be unencumbered while you are out. |
| If you have one of the most important meetings of your job so far tommorow (and it cements a $15.000 to $30.000 a year raise & promotion to perhaps doubling your income within a year or so ) but you are informed of IMPENDING SHTF AND YOU LIVE in the middle of a vast population center (OC or SF valley or Inland Empire or San Jose or Bay Area) would you risk calling in sick (first time in 18 months)or would you pack up & bug out (because staying put and missing calmer time to bug out would be wrong move) |

A year or two with no law or government is a TEOTWAWKI... we would never again be the USA.
I have my BOL set with every thing I will need for about 6 months. So I would use the time to prep MORE fuel stores and loading ammo, servicing vehicles and getting friends and family on board.. |
