Looks like it would make a decent gun cabinet as well

Post pics when you are done converting it and are cooking up some goodness.

Now I just have to figure out the details.  Racking, heat source, temp control, etc...

Will it be safe for cooking food in?

As in it won't be putting off any poisonous fumes or toxins from the powder coating and getting into the food?

Great, the taxpayer fund isn't dry yet.  I'm looking to turn a street sweeper into a residential vacuum.

The cabinet I am getting is anodized, not powder coated.

It is an old cabinet that was replaced with a newer unit.  This cabinet must be 20 years old.

No asbestos.  It is not painted, it is anodized.

Looking at some of the things I need to do to convert this cabinet.

Heat proof door seals like you find on an oven.

An smoke stack of some sort.

Racking

A heat source.  Thinking of a small weber type patio grill in the bottom for now.  Will have to look at mounting a firebox inside.

Mount a pair of thermometers on it, one high and one low.

going to be hard to regulate your temperature with an aluminum shell...especially one that is only 1/8" thick.  aluminum has a thermal conductivity of 5 times that of steel.

Hey, if it doesn't work out, no big deal.  It's not like I will be out a lot of money.

didn't mean to crap on your score...it was just the first thing that popped into my head.  get a decent cross wind, and you can watch your temp drop 20-30 degrees 'cause of the nasty convection.  sometimes being a mechanical engineer sucks!
