good luck on the hunt! i finally found a design gig and after 2 promotions and 8 months at the grindstone treasury department and federal agents came in and busted the place up... Now in a job market even more fucked than it was 8 months ago, i too am on the search...

Graduating in a month and a half with a degree in Maritime Systems Engineering...

For all the resumes given out and applications completed, I have yet to be given an interview

Looking for a job should be conducted as if it's a full time job if you really need one.

Get up early and pound the online ads and print ads. Get on the road and show up at locations that will see you early, etc. Go all day. Work late.
