Teacher’s Note:

After a number of students said that the grammar mistakes on their papers weren't their fault because they used the computer's grammar checker, I wondered how accurate this software was and ran Lincoln's Gettysburg Address through it. I was amazed at the number of mistakes Abe made! So I rewrote it, correcting all the errors while keeping the general idea, and now WordPerfect could find no mistakes at all. The same was true with Microsoft Word. I hope Abe appreciates all the work I did for him. The point is, forget about grammar checkers; learn grammar!

Revised Gettysburg Address:
