Have that feeling?  I do.  Obamacare passes, and like BHO himself said last night, that long after he's gone, long after the debates, pundits, and talking heads have quit complaining, we still have obamacare.

Everyone says elections in November.  SO WHAT!  Elections happen, and republicans gain control of house and senate.  We still have obamacare.

People like Glenn Beck say call your representatives, email, protest.  THAT DIDN'T WORK!  I WENT to Tea Party rallys.  We still have obamacare.

Glenn twitted a video of the monologue "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore".  So I stick my head out, yell I'm mad as hell, not going to take it anymore.  We still have obamacare.

And the problem isn't just that we are saddled with obamacare.  The problem runs much much deeper than that.  Obamacare is only the symptom of a much deeper problem:  Progressivism.

This country is full of people that WANT to be taken care of by the government.  And no, that isn't code for racism.  People in every state, of every color firmly believe that the government is the answer.

*sigh*  Frustration doubles because I don't want to say stuff that gets this locked.  But seriously, when is enough, enough?  Glenn, what do we do when everything you've said to do CLEARLY ISN'T WORKING???

Helpless.

And just how do we go about not paying taxes?

That's a fine recourse if you don't own a home or have a family and work under the table but for someone that does it not really an option.  If I don't pay my taxes they take it straight out of my check like it or not.  If I work under the table and don't get a paycheck then they put a lein on my house.  If I still don't pay they throw me in jail.  Then who will support my wife and daughter?  Not paying taxes is not an option for most of us.  Sending letters and making calls doesn't work. Voting doesn't work when most of the population vote based on appearances and who they think will give them the most free stuff.

The only thing I see we can do is to start by not letting these idiots get elected to begin with.  Start locally, research candidates and help the ones you agree with get elected.  Even if we just put out a few signs we have to start somewhere.  If the idiots never get there foot in the door to begin with we won't have these problems.

Going Galt would necessarily require some lifestyle changes; I own an industrial integration company... I'm thinking about becoming a (roadside fruit & vegetable stand) farmer/shade tree mechanic. My kids would grow up poorer but would learn many important skills and likely see more of me than they do currently.

This is a hard choice and not one I would make alone but my wife isn't entirely closed to the proposition and oddly enough neither are my kids, guess we'll see.

I don't wanna stir up shit.  The fact is the bill passed, but by 4 votes.  There are 77 more Dems that Repubs in the House, and we lost by 4.  Don't tell me protests didn't work.  That's something.  The way people on here talk about it it's like we just signed up to keep Obama as dictator.  Elections in November change the Congress, and what will Obama do? He can't pass any more fixes for Obamacare, can't pass anymore of the "historic" legislation he wants, and this is only 7 months away.  If Obamacare doesn't get all it's fixes, it goes all FUBAR, maybe people see it for what it really is and want it changed.  If Obama's one huge bill passes and turns out shitty, people may think he's not the change we needed.

I don't make a habit to watch Glenn Beck, but the whole point of statements including "Not gonna take it anymore" means you're actually gonna do something to not have to take it anymore.  I'm no less guilty than anyone about letting all of this happen, but yelling out the metaphorical window solves nothing.

Just finished reducing my monthly expenses to less than $1500.00 per month - rent, food, elect, gas, etc.

And I'm playing hockey twice a week.

And I'll bet my "situation" will become illegal soon.

Ckichinko, the bill did not pass by 4 votes. Those democrats who voted nay, cast their vote strategically. They were the democrats who are at most risk for re-election in their district. The Democratic party strategically let them vote nay to save face in their congressional district so that come November they're able to say that they did not support health care reform.

Guess I never saw it like that. I doubt sincerely that's the case in VA, since it seems there's a pretty common base of anger here.  Our own governor and AG are Repubs.  And I have a hard time believing Stupak voted yes while others got to vote no, being the head of the Anti-Abortion group.  But I could be completely off base.

Anyway, my point still stands.  It's not yet Fo time, SHTF, Go Galt day, etc.  But if that day should come, anyone who feels like they're helpless isn't going to survive long.
