If we're going to talk about the "antichrist" then we are talking about a Christian concept and it makes sense to actually look at what the New Testament has to say about it.
There are only 4 passages in Scripture that talk about the antichrist. I John 2:18 "Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come"
It is wrong to think there is just one antichrist. John (the only author to use the word) said that there were already many in his day. I John 2:22 "Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist –– he denies the Father and the Son."
Who is the antichrist? Anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ. I John 4:3 "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."
Again, the antichrist is anyone who denies Christ and there isn't just one there are/were many. 2 John 7 "Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist."
Here John adds another category to those who are the antichrist - those who deny the humanity of Jesus. That's it. That is ALL the Bible has to say about the antichrist. John tells us who it is, tells us there are more than one and yet people STILL debate and accuse. I really wish people would base their eschatology on the Bible and not on bad movies. |

| IMO, he doesn't qualify as THE anti-christ but he may be a type of anti-christ. IOW, he may be a forerunner of the anti-christ in much the same way as John the Baptist was a forerunner of Jesus Christ (except for the obvious fact that Christ came for good reasons whereas the AC will come for bad ones). |

He's an idiot. 60 votes, large hate towards his opponents, ran one of the best campaigns, and had the media bending over for him. And what has he done so far? Nothing. He has pissed off the liberals by watering down healthcare, and hes pissed of the conservative side by well, being obama. If the election of scott brown shows anything its that people are pissed, and I think the republicans have a golden opportunity in the next two elections.
The antichrist would be the complete opposite. He would appeal to everybody, he would get things done. Not go talk to jay leno on the tonight show. He would shake the world when he spoke, and world leaders would be enamored with him, not like obama where hes treated like the kid who shows up at parties but was never invited. Another characteristic he would have is he would pass whatever he wanted. Put it this way, say you wanted to disarm to civilian population. There are plenty of stupid college kids who will do anything to make a difference. You get them to do a massive coordinated attack on churches, schools, hospitals, just real emotion driving places. You get them to go buy ar-15's in gun stores, and you have them go out and shoot up places. After all was said and done, the public outcry would be deafening. The Brady campaign would be over run the donations. We are very lucky someone hasn't pulled a major shooting in recent years. Can you imagine what would happen if the Columbine assholes had used an ak-47? We could very well still be under the assault weapon ban. The antichrist would be a conspiracy theorists wet dream. In short no, he's too damn stupid. |
