So I know people have duplicate AR's and AK's, how many other type of firearms do you duplicate in your collection and why?

I try to duplicate all my primary defensive guns.  Other than that it would be guns I really like just for their artistic or historic value.  But I don't have the money, time or space.

I have 2 ARs that are in completely different configurations.  One is a heavy 20", scoped rifle with a bipod and PRS.  The other is a light 14.5" carbine.

(like the majority of the members of this site, probably)

I have two Sako M39 rifles.  Why?  Well, I bought the second because it was in very nice condition.  I'm trying to sell the first one.

I have duplicate 10/22's.  trying to get as many 10/22s as I can,  or at least one for each family member

Handguns.

I have several 45s, 2 1911s as well as  Model 25 45ACP revolver.

Also have 2 357Mags and a 38Special(all 3 N-frame Smiths), I have much  more 38 special than I do 357Mag.

Will eventually have another 9mm or two, currently only have a Beretta 92FS.   May get another one down the road if I find a good deal on an M9.

I have an M12 M16 rifle rack.  Holds 10 rifles so I feel like I should fill it up.  I have one AR15, two AR15A1's, one Mfourgery SBR, and one M16.  I'm half way there.   I also have two Colt 1911's but my wife uses one as a door stop.  I need to get her a Kimber or Auto Ordnance for that purpose, shouldn't use a colt for that.

All of them.  Most are in triplicate.  Many are even 5x or even more.

"Extra" guns?

UNPOSSIBLE.

I identical multiples look awesome in a rack.

Many ar15 type rifles in many different configurations looks less cool in said rack.

Just sayin.

TBH, I don't worry about duplicating anything. Each one is what it is.

It's a collection, and both of the firearms that I own has it's place.

I try to have at least 2 of all my competition guns. Nothing like paying all the money to go to a big match and have one crap out on you.

The only duplicates I have are AR's and 1911's.  Even among those, they are set up different.

AR
-16inch carbine
-24 inch bull barrel varmint setup

1911
-target model with adjustable sights
-standard 5 inch government
-4 inch to eventually make into a ccw

Before the tragic boating accident, I had dupes of Glock 23s and AR/M-4geries.

But that was before the accident

I have multiple 870's for various purposes.

I, somehow, ended up with twin Marlin 336's.

I'd like to have a matching pair of 1911's.
