I just have to say, people around here need to read the OP before spouting off their infinite wisdom. I have started 2 threads recently where I asked a very specific question and got all kinds of answers that had nothing to do w/ the question. Then, this morning, somebody else posted about a general contractor that gave his bid number to somebody else, who in turn dropped their bid $1 million and everybody jumps on the guy calling him a commie, saying he got beat by $1 mil, drop your price. That isn't what happened nor what he said. He said the other guy dropped his price by $1 mil, not that he got beat by $1 mil. Geez, read the post, the whole post, let it absorb, read it again, then, if you know the answer or have something constructive to say, post. I can;t be the only one bothered by this.
This on I aksed what does the (s) mean when a guy's rank is Lt. Commander (s)? Again, 90% of the replies were, Lt. Commander is like a major or O-4 or whatever else. Great, but what does the (s) mean? Look how long it takes. Topic 1 Look at these. I ask, about a gun in a book, yet 90% of the thread is arguing about war crimes that may or may not have been committed. That is what the book was about, but I asked a very specific question about a gun. Topic 2 Here's the one from this morning. Topic 3 |

Maybe you're just wording your questions in a way that most here can't understand the question. Now this could be your fault, or it could be the readers fault. The final option could be they don't care what your question was. I think it's the last one. I don't see how "what does the (s) in lt. commander (s) mean" could be misunderstood. I think people read about 4 words and their ADD addled brains force them to type something and move on as fast as possible. |

Quoted: Just my opinion, but the original post in the contractor thread was very convoluted and difficult to understand. It did not clearly state what the situation was or how the process worked. I think that is why there were so many negative responses. I didn't realize how many people don't understand how hard bids for construction projects work. Those that do had no problem understanding my OP. |

Lets see; post count under 10,000, been here less than a year AND he's defending some communist!
Listen pal, defending commies shows your total disrespect for veterans, vetrinarians, and all of us who skim GD before getting on our soapbox. And besides that.... What was the point again? Maybe I should read the OP. Nah, that's too hard.
