I just recently started carrying and my gun just loves to dig into my side.  If I'm standing or walking it's no big deal.

So what gives?  I read constantly here that a lot of people carry this way and do it comfortably.

I carry a G19 with a comp-tac IWB around a 32" waist.

I find IWB Kydex to be about the most uncomfortable thing I know of.

Comp-Tac, Raven Concealment, and Blade Tech = OUCH!

My Milt Sparks VMII is about as good as it gets for my G17.

Good luck.

I like slimline leather holsters. More comfortable, IMO.

I'm not exactly sure it's the holster.  The grip is whats bothering me.

Where is the best placement?

Not to be repetetive, but if you have a good holster, it should keep the grip spaced off your side. Sounds like your pistol's muzzle is dogging out from your leg, and kicking the grip into your side. It shouldn't do that.

I'm not sure about the Comp-Tac, because I've never owned one before. Just because it was right for someone else, doesn't mean it's right for you. It was pricey, but I bought a bunch of holsters from this guy :

Mitch Rosen

And found out which one works best in what situation. YMMV

Crossbreed SuperTuck.  The paddle keeps the entire gun from touching your body.  Most comfortable kydex/leather holster on the market, IMO.

Not to be a smart ass or anything, but the most comfortable and concealable spot.

You gotta move it around.

I tend to carry about 1500.  If it goes back to say 1600 or 1700, the butt hits the driver's seat back.

He's my favorite holster maker. And his shop is in Manchester, NH. I live about 15-20 minutes from there, so I save on shipping.

If you can't find one that works from him, it can't be made. He's basically the best kind of craftsman. He's an asshole IRL, but he doesn't take any shit, cuts no corners, and helps you find a superior product for yourself.

Try one of his Express products (They're cheaper, because they have less boning done to them.) and you'll see what I mean. If you can afford it, buy a slimline (I like these), or his regular quality holsters. They take quite some time to build, but they are very worth it.

Also, if you want, he makes holsters out of pretty much anything. Elephant, shark, ostrich, horse, and cow.

Not to mention, there's just something super classy about a nice leather holster.

Those are some expensive holsters.  If I go this route, I need to make sure I'm going to carry my G19 for a while as I've been thinking about something else.

Can you get one in Great White?

I wish, or I'd have one already.

If you're really curious, I'll take some real time pics of one of mine, and send them to you.

The most comfortable ugliest holster you will ever own. I love mine.
Highly recommended. If you don't like it they will take it back with in the first 2 weeks.
No need to send it back, you'll like it.
