Does this piss off anyone else? I get so bent out of shape while I'm driving around and see flags pretty much everywhere that have tattered ends, are faded, ripped, not lit at night, etc. It's everywhere. Even at some municipal buildings to include fire stations. To me that's ignorant and disrespectful as hell. If you're going to do it you should do it right or don't do it at all. I guess some people just figure as long as something that resembles a flag is on their flag pole it makes them patriotic, even if it is halfassed.

You aren't the only one.  Mostly I see old flags that are faded to the point that they are pink/orange, white and blue.

Private residence I get a little ticked, if it is a business or government building and I have a couple of seconds, I'll go in and say something.

You would be suprised at what a high % of people simply didn't realize something was wrong!  Most places with shredded flags out front are falling over themselves to replace the flag if someone mentions it, but they just never look up.

Set it and forget it...

I almost wish the local news or Andy Rooney or the local newspapers would do a segment on this... maybe wake some people up.

I make sure to keep my flag looking good. I can't worry about everybody else, but I understand your point. What bothers me is when a business has a large/enormous flag up and it's in ruins. That's not cool.

I've had very good success bringing tattered of faded flags to the attention of management at Chic-fil-A and other places. I think it's just not on their checklist of daily stuff, but whenever I've mentioned a flag problem to a business, it's been fixed within a week or two. Just be polite, I usually start with, "I'm sure you've been too busy to notice..."
