Women's downhill skiing. Evidently one of the toughest courses in history. It ate nearly half the competitors for lunch. Bunch of nasty looking falls at about 70mph.

can't remember ever seeing that before. New safety rules?

I understand it makes it easier to see the course, but I'm from the school that the Olympics shouldn't be about easy.

It's safety, but with good reason. Because it is taking place far north during winter, and the course isn't well lit, the dye helps skiers see the course later in the day when the sun is low on the horizon.
