Taking some classes at University of Alaska Anchorage. Since today is a holiday, I almost did not go in . I thought for sure the place would be shut down due to Presidents Day. It was shut down for MLK Jr. Day. Anyway, after looking at my class schedule, it showed class in session today so I went. Good thing, we did have class. Now, explain to me if schools are closed on fed holidays, why would they close for one and not the other? Is this normal?

My university is open as normal. Same. Most schools swapped President's day for MLK a long time ago. Feds are about the only ones that take President's Day anymore. We have a federal lab in our building and they're all gone. Rest of the university is business as usual. |
