I thought that Email Notification for subscribed topics is not a feature that is available to free accounts, but some work with my test account shows that there is a way to get it.
Step 1 
Click the subscribe tab in the thread you want to subscribe to Step 2 
Go to your Subscriptions page and change  to  for those threads you want email notification for.
Free Accounts subscriptions do have limited features compared to Paid Accounts. Free accounts cannot subscribe on all boards, have fewer results shown on their Subscriptions list, no default to Disable Automatic Subscriptions, Subscribe without Email Notifications, or Subscribe with Email Notifications, no ability to Change the Subscription Option at the time of posting (Do Not Add to Subscribe List, Without Email Notification, Subscribe With Email Notification). |
