There is a reply post here..EDIT, he stopped the audio. he was testing it. but the fact remains it played without me allowing it to. As soon as I opened the thread, I heard the audio. How do I stop this, because I know some jack-ass will add inappropriate audio that I don't want my kids to hear. thanks |

Quoted: Maybe I don't understand your problem, but... Look down in the bottom right of your computer screen, right beside the clock is a picture of a speaker. Click that, it will bring up a window where you can select "Mute all" Voila, no more noise. Dude, I'm sorry but I shouldn't have to disable or mute my computer sound in order to surf a forums board because some kid post innapropriate audio. I have an Idea, then allow me to post XXX porno on the GD and just tell everyone else to turn off their monitor... ![]() I don't want to hear it, unless I WANT TO. Forget it, I am just going spam the TB with the I Love President Obama song. |

Yeah, you shouldn't get that any more here. However, in IE, there's an advanced option that deals with sound in websites. Unfortunately, it doesn't control what embedded objects like Flash do. To eliminate that, you'd have to remove flash, and thus prevent youtube from working. Or download an add-on that lets you pick and choose which flash objects to activate, if any. I'm not aware of such a thing for IE, but I've never looked. Firefox might well have one. |

This is more along the lines of an answer i was looking for. Opening a thread about, "how to properly install a railed hand guard", shouldn't subject me to listening to a reply on the evils of Microsoft or force me to listen to someones religious ramblings. this is the problem with FORCED AUDIO FLASH, I guess...anyone can reply so that all who open the thread are forced to listen to the crap. |
