| There are some threads I would like to read, but can't figure out how to search for them. I paste in the 6 digit topic number into the archives search, check "topic number," select "all boards" from the pull down menu, select a wide date range, click search and nothing comes up. What's the right way to do it? |

Try these. I type in the 6 digits and nada. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=382263 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=379960 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=379508 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=379010 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=378985 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=372680 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=382369 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=383027 |

You're right, ShadowOne, those are not on the archive server. If they were recent topics or very old, they probably have not been added in. Everything gets added into the archives manually, and GoatBoy was making sure the server was nice and robust before putting everything on there. Recently there was some housekeeping done on the board server, and topics got moved off, but they have not shown up in the archive yet. |
Okay, that makes sense. Every time I've searched the archives by number it was because someone's dedicated feedback thread "aged out". When the guy inevitably freaks out, I can't seem to find the thread. Guess I'm searching for the "recently deceased", huh? |

Google really works! www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=127&t=319116 Google search / thread title + "site: ar15.com" |
I didn't know about that google site option. Cool! |
