Since the upgrade I get logged out after a few minutes of inactivity. I've reset the preference in my profile a couple of times (this fixed it after the last upgrade) yet I still can't stay logged in. Any ideas? |

Quoted: hmmm, may have to try my own medicine.... I came back this morning ot find that the cookie didn't do it's thing... I had to log back in. but, while I was here last night, I only did it once and did not get bumped out. [whacko] Same here. This really sux [:(], especially if you have AR15.com set as your home page. Quoted: I fixed the issues and if there any future problems, let me know! (You will probably need to log in or save your profile once with the fix today.) Just tried it; the cookie for this session is only good for a couple hours...Same as before. Every day, even though I have my cookie-cache set to accept all AR15.c0m cookies, I still have to login every time. Also, my preference for 7 days worth of posts instead of the default 14 - where do I set that??? There's nothing in Preferences about it...I tried the button at the bottom of the page, but that only lasts as long as I'm connected/per session... Any help would be appreciated! |

Quoted: Let me know, it should be fine now... Log out, then log back in. Should be good to go... Ummm, nope...no good... It wouldn't recognize me just now, after flushing my cookie cache last night, updating my preferences & saving, and accepting all AR15.com cookies... It'd be nice if the cookie lasted more than one day... But it's free, so I'll quit complaining... |

I think I have it now... I had cleaned out the cookies, rebooted, came back and saved my prefrences, but still ended up not being logged in next visit. I found that if I logged in, and then re-saved the homepage, I've been logged in like I should be for 2 days now. [:)] |
|
Quoted: [deleted] SO far, what ever I have done IS NOT WORKING! I thought I had it too $%^&*( what to try now? ...Huh!...I printed out your instructions, tried it, and for the last 3 or 4 days (since my last whine), it's recognized me! *And*, it has remembered my page prefs (7 days)!!! Thanks for the tip!!! ;) |
| I have the same problem and it has been going on for a short while now. I hought it was just my computer, but when I got to PA my computer there did the same thing. Now I am back home in NY but I still get logged out very often. I deleted the cookies on both computers with no luck. Any help would be great. Thanks. |
|
Quoted: It's my fault AGAIN and I am working on it. [=)] ...Believe me, your efforts are appreciated... I think we've all had problems configuring new software... That said, my login cookie still only lasts 3 days max...Then I have to re-login again... (I was going to change my sig...But I guess that'll have to wait)... :) |

On log in I get a Page cannot be displayed, with a HTTP 500- server error then I go back and click on any board and it shows me signed in then while reading a post or changing boards the page shows shows me not logged in. but going to the board that shows who's on it shows me there I have cleared cookies but it keeps doing this also after posting it logs me out anytime iI try to log back in it goes back to Page cannot be displayed Edited : to add Just got kicked off again had to hit go back to get here , kick off was due to high vol. I hit go back about 8 times and went to the board list it showed 628 total on. Hopes this helps some. |

Put up a new fix this morning... the anti-idle code was messed up and causing errors as well. Autologin can be set in your profiles (set it to on and save!) or you can simply use the site's anti-idle code, which should simply keep you logged in while you are using the site. (After 45 minutes of idle time, you will need to log back in manually, otherwise the system will log you in!) You must LOG OUT to clear any cookies which support this functionality, and your password is never stored in a cookie. (A system generated GUID is used and re-assigned every 15-20 minutes for your protection!) |

Had to JUST push up some changes which didnt go up last night or this morning for some reason... was causing a few of the "log out" issues... This should be it, I promise!!! Any issues from this point on will be new and unforseen!!! [=D] [i]You may be logged out a final time and should save your profile for good measure at your next visit. I suggest, for optimal performance, that you delete your old cookie and start fresh![/i] |

Quoted:This should be it, I promise!!! Any issues from this point on will be new and unforseen!!! [=D] Nope; no good. Didn't even last one day this time... I followed all the suggestions; deleted cookies; re-saved pages; re-checked auto-login; etc... Still no auto-login... I blame Bill Gates... |

[whacko] strange. I have been having problems being logged in here. I went and deleted the cookie [b]user@ar15[2].com[/b] (the only ARFCOM cookie I could find) I rebooted my computer came to http://www.ar15.com logged in went to profile made sure "auto login:" was checked as YES clicked on submit went to the general forum and clicked on "my active topics" selected this thread "Keep getting Logged out.." My Identifier was not on this page. (it showed me to be NOT logged in) I selected "7idl" for loggin and input my password. I then get a page saying: [red]" Unable to log you in, please make sure your account name and password are correct and try again. "[/red] WTF? I think I then clicked on the ARFCOM logo on the upper left corner and logged in there. ever since that weekend where the "upgrade/update" was done, some weird cr@p has been goin' on. I'm using IE 6.0 on XPpro I have cookies for the AR15.com domain enabled. the cookie now present on my machine is: user@ar15[2].com I hope this info helps, and I'll IM you that cookie GB, I have no clue what should be in it! |

So yer still getting logged off? I've been ok all day, will see what happens overnight and tomorrow... not sure what's happening with you. Make sure both Session and regular cookies are enabled for ar15.com and www.ar15.com PS - Please resend the email, I could have sworn I saw it, but it's not in my inbox NOR my deleted items! [=(] |
