Another New Putter! (Page 2 of 2)

You would destroy my home courses. The course I play on is 67/118 and easy as can be. I'm a legit 7 handicap on courses below 6500 yards and I've shot in the 60s on occasion. Might be aging out of that and seem to find finishing a round harder every year. But I was NEVER a + handicap. Kudos. We have a retired tour pro name Mark Weibe here and his son that is playing on I think the European tour right now joins us on occasion. It is a wonder to see him hit and putt. |

It's hard realizing I don't have the distance I used to have, even with newer equipment and a softer shaft.

I noticed the distance loss started at 60 and accelerated after 65. Seems to have stabilized at 70 but now a big drive for me is 250. Even with all the new tech. Swing speed is probably below 90. Truth is though my central nervous system might be the bigger enemy. I have at least 2-3 putts/chips a round that is herky jerky and lucky if it goes anywhere near where I was aiming. I think it's called the yips. |

Yeah, it's zip code: 85068 (1973-2000) and the shaft label (according to Ping) says: Very late 70's like, '78 or '79. I've cleaned it up with coca-cola, and mild soap & water and an old toothbrush to give it new life.

I don’t know of anyone else who offers that. The headquarters is just off I-17 in the middle of north Phoenix. PLD Custom |

Played around the fake green with 20 or 30 putters last week. I’m no good, but I’m not getting along with the Cobra putter my set came with. Everything from Tour Edge to LAB (they’re local) and settled on the Wilson ZT. I’m sure it’s wrong and I’ll somehow be worse, but it felt like the right one

I used my Ping Zing2 in Nickel for years but a while back I started messing around with mallets of various types and found I really putt better with them. After a lot of try outs with different putters I got a L.A.B. DF3 and was hooked on the tech and how well it worked for me. The only thing I struggled with was lag putts with the all aluminum head. When the OZ1i with insert came out I got one and the steel insert made a huge difference in my lag distance control but I still preferred the DF3. Well, they recently added an insert to the DF3 so I was all ready to get one until I tried the new VZN1i and I’m so glad I didn’t get the DF3 because this one is amazing ! 3 rounds so far and this thing is definitely staying in the bag. |
